We project process improvement projects across a variety of industries.
In particular, we have worked with several local councils to increase organisational efficiencies and facilitate a smooth transition to 'Council in the Cloud' digital planning systems.
Burwood Council
Procure Spot was engaged by Burwood Council to conduct an efficiency and effectiveness review of all organisational processes, including procurement and civil works. A primary objective of our work was to identify and implement efficiencies for their development application (DA) process.
We were successful in increasing the performance of the council’s DA process, and we provided post-implementation support to further enhance the efficacy of the new process. The success of our initial engagement led to a further project to manage the council’s transition to digital planning.

City of Canada Bay Council
Procure Spot was engaged by the City of Canada Bay Council for assistance on their Faster Local Approvals Grant (FLAG) project. The aim of the project was to implement process improvements to reduce development application (DA) assessment timeframes.
Procure Spot was fundamental in identifying and implementing process improvements, as well as generally improving customer relations around the DA assessment process. Our work with the council was successful and resulted in a more streamlined referral process, standardised responses, improved customer communication, and better handling across the organisation.

Port Macquarie Hastings Council
Procure Spot was engaged to conduct an efficiency and effectiveness review of all organizational processes, including procurement and civil works.

Inner West Council
Procure Spot was engaged by the Inner West Council to assist on their Development Application (DA) Process Improvement project. The aim of the project was to improve DA processes by identifying and implementing efficiencies for increased performance.
Our work successfully delivered on this objective and was implemented in three project phases – process discovery, process design, and process implementation.
- Analysis of data and mapping of current state processes.
- Workshop facilitation to design and map a future state process after testing identified productivity gains.
- Project management and implementation of the re-engineered future state process.
- Review of existing procedures manual and updating to ensure a comprehensive end-to-end manual that reflected the new process.
Sutherland Council
Procure Spot was engaged by Sutherland Council to conduct an efficiency and effectiveness review of all organisation processes, including procurement and civil works. A primary objective of our work was to identify and implement efficiencies for increased performance of their development application (DA) process.
We achieved this objective by utilising our three-phase methodology, and we assisted the council to transition from manual systems to a digital planning system to enhance further efficiencies.Â
