The Work Health and Safety Procedure ensures that businesses recognise their legal and moral responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for workers, contractors, employees of contractors, clients and visitors to worksites. Management, staff and contractors also must comply with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011.

This procedure ensures that employees understand their important role in maintaining a safe work environment for themselves and others in the workplace. For example, employees are expected to:

  • take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others at work
  • cooperate with the business to enable compliance with health and safety
  • assist management to meet health and safety targets/key performance indicators, and
  • not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything at the workplace.

The Work Health and Safety Procedure covers a range of subjects, including policy, workplace participation commitment, relevant legislation and responsibilities of management and employees.

The procedure operates in conjunction with the following forms and register:

  • 504 – Toolbox Meeting Form
